Dr Michael Paul (1968) is a founder and managing director of paul und collegen consulting. His focus lies in consulting on the topics of change, reorganisation and restructuring for companies and M&As. He is a certified valuation analyst for business and brand valuation according to EACVA standards and, since 2016, a sworn and court-certified expert in business valuation and business planning. As an expert in the real estate industry, he is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Dr Paul has written numerous articles for professional journals and published several specialist books.
Before founding paul und collegen, Dr Paul was a partner at an international business advisory firm in charge of the Vienna office.
Gerald Zachar, MA (1973) is a graduate historian and ethnologist who started his career in project and client management at an international firm. After several years working as a trainer and lecturer (including at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris (ESCP) and the University of Vienna), he joined paul und collegen as a consultant in 2012.
Gerald Zacher takes on projects and assists with studies and appraisal tasks. His work primarily focuses on: Project management, business planning, information management and data analyses. He has released a number of publications over the years, most recently: ‘Evidencing the Economics of Film Festival Funding: Do Government Subsidies Help?’ (with Michael Paul, Springer 2018).
Gerald Zachar is trilingual (German, French, English).
Sophia Umfahrer, MA
(1996) has a background in musicology and has been part of the paul und collegen team since completing her master's degree. After completing several internships in theatre, stage, acoustics and music production, she writes articles for the music magazine published by the Austrian music information centre mica on the side. Sophia Umfahrer offers advisory services and support in business research, data analysis and project management.
